Table of Content [Hide]

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) has become a widely used material due to its non adhesiveness, heat resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and insulation properties. It is commonly used in the fields of pipeline lining, gaskets, seals, and electrical insulation. When cutting PTFE sheets, the following methods can be used to obtain a smooth and accurate cut.

Use sharp cutting tools to cut

This is one of the most commonly used methods. The operation steps are as follows:

Marking: Use a pencil and ruler to mark the cutting line on the board.

Scratching: Use a sharp wallpaper knife or art knife to forcefully scratch along the marked line.

Cutting: It usually requires repeated scratching several times to completely cut through the thickness of the board.

    Cut with sharp scissors

For cutting small PTFE sheets, this is a faster and more convenient method:

Marking: Mark the cutting line on the board.

Cutting: Use sharp scissors to carefully cut along the marked line, keeping your hands stable to ensure a straight cut.

    Important precautions

Safety protection: Always wear gloves and goggles during operation to prevent scratches from sharp edges or debris.

Ventilation environment: Cutting should be carried out in a well ventilated area to avoid inhaling trace amounts of smoke that may be generated during the cutting process (especially when laser cutting or high-speed cutting generates heat).
